Competent Rigger with Capstan Hoist Operator

This course is designed to allow students to learn in a controlled environment under close supervision and tutelage of our skilled instructors. The Competent Rigger course is offered in our indoor tower training facility and students successfully completing this course will be recognized as a Competent Rigger in accordance with ANSI A10.48.

Prerequisites: 5 years of rigging experience including rigging planning, use of a capstan hoist, synthetic rope, and hardware. Previous experience in adult skill-oriented training. This program expects that students understand basic equipment use of: hardware, slings, rope, anchorages, and have ability to solve basic mathematics and trigonometry.

Train-the-Trainer

The Competent Rigger Train-the-Trainer 3-Day Training Course provides students with the teaching tools and methods to provide in-house Competent Rigger training. Our course is offered in our indoor tower training facility, and allows students to learn in a controlled environment under close supervision and tutelage of our skilled instructors. Students successfully completing this course will be recognized as a Competent Rigger Trainer in accordance with ANSI A10.48. Trainers will be able to conduct classes, which meet the individual needs of their organizations and customers. Written and practical examinations are administered as to ensure the principles presented in the course have been achieved. Documentation is available to satisfy organization’s due diligence and regulatory requirements.

Organizations and trainers must sign a training license agreement with Pacific Safety Solutions prior to enrollment in the course. Students must be employed by an organization This program is fast-paced and not intended for new riggers or signalers, or those without previous training and experience. This program expects that students understand basic equipment use of: hardware, slings, rope, anchorages, and have ability to solve basic mathematics and trigonometry.

Our courses meet the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training (ANSI/ASSE Z490.1), the highest industry standard for training. Our curriculum also meets the requirements of ANSI/ASSE A10.48-2016 Criteria for Safety Practices with the Construction, Demolition, Modification and Maintenance of Communication Structures
