Tower Climber Courses

Authorized Tower Climber Course – $795

This course is designed for new climbers who have not been exposed to the use of fall protection equipment before or have limited experience. This course is for climbers to understand and demonstrate the mechanics and performance of each piece of fall protection equipment they are required to use on the job. Authorized Climbers typically use pre-established fall protection systems and are not responsible for selecting anchorages or systems. The Authorized Climber knows how the equipment works but may not have the in-depth knowledge to determine what fall protection should be initially established. Authorized Climbers must work closely with Competent Climbers or Competent Rescuers. This course will be comprised of both classroom theory and practical exercises on various fall protection systems, tower climbing techniques and the importance of rescue planning and emergency action plans. Pre-requisites for Authorized Climber Training: must be employed by a company, and the company must deem the employee is medically fit and capable of climbing.

Authorized Rescuer Course – $1095

This course is designed for new climbers who have not been exposed to the use of fall protection equipment before or have limited experience. This course covers the following topics: fall hazard recognition; fall hazard elimination and control methods, applicable fall protection regulations; inspection of equipment components and systems before use; the selection and use of noncertified anchorages; structural and environmental hazard recognition and fall protection rescue procedures.

Competent Tower Climber and Rescue – $1095

This course is designed for experienced climbers who have supervisory level responsibilities on the job site. This course augments the authorized tower climber course through the following: applicable rescue regulations; fall hazard assessments and fall protection procedures; detailed inspection of fall protection and rescue equipment components and systems; determining when systems are unsafe; calculated clearances for various systems; fall protection rescue procedures and the selection and use of non-certified anchorages. This course is comprised of both classroom theory and practical exercises.

TOWER Climber and Rescue Train-the-Trainer – $2695

The Pacific Safety Solutions Tower Climber & Rescue Train-the-Trainer Course provides students with the teaching tools and methods to provide in-house tower fall protection and rescue training. Our course is offered in our indoor tower training facility, and allows students to learn in a controlled environment under close supervision and tutelage of our skilled instructors. Students successfully completing this course will be recognized as a Tower Climber & Rescue Train-the-Trainer course in accordance with ANSI/ASSE Z359.2 (Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program). Trainers will be able to deliver authorized and competent climber and rescue training to meet the individual needs of their employers and customers. Written and practical tests are administered to ensure that the principles presented in the course are understood. Documentation is available to satisfy your company’s due diligence and regulatory requirements.

This course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training (ANSI/ASSE Z490.1), the highest industry standard for training. It also meets the requirements of ANSI/ASSE Z359.2, Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program, found in the ANSI/ASSE Z359 Fall Protection Code.

Trainers are able to conduct authorized climber and rescue, and competent climber and rescue training according to the NATE CTS 4th Edition standard.

*NOTE: Pacific Safety Solutions can supply all necessary fall protection equipment for this Trainer course.

Prerequisites:
This program is fast-paced and not intended for new climbers or those without previous training experience. This program expects that students understand basic fall protection and rescue equipment use.

Required:
Students must be employed by a Company
Previous fall protection and rescue training to the competent climber/rescuer level
Previous experience in some level of adult skill-oriented training
Organizations and Trainers must sign a training license agreement with Pacific Safety Solutions prior to enrollment in the course

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, Trainers will have the materials to teach site-specific fall protection programs to their company’s employees. Materials distributed during this course include presentations, exams, outlines, exercises, lesson plans, regulations, student manuals and documentation records. Trainers will be able to deliver training to Climbers and Rescuers using Pacific Safety Solutions student manuals and materials.
