Capstan Hoist Operator
Our Capstan Hoist Operator Training course equips workers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely set up, operate, inspect, and maintain capstan hoists in construction and telecommunications environments. The training focuses on proper anchorage selection, load ratings, load and proof testing, electrical requirements, rope management, inspection criteria, and safe lifting practices.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises, participants learn to identify hazards, prevent overloading, control suspended loads, and operate capstan hoists in accordance with manufacturer requirements and industry best practices.
This course meets the requirements of ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2023 and is delivered in accordance with ANSI/ASSE Z490 training standards.
